Who are the Guardians of St. Alphege Church ?
The Guardians of St. Alphege Church, Solihull was formed in 1981 as a non-denominational registered charity (Charity No. 511562) with the object of raising funds to assist with the maintenance and preservation of the fabric of the church, for the benefit of all the inhabitants of the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull and to stimulate interest in the beauty, history and character of St Alphege Church as one of the oldest and finest medieval buildings in the Borough.
How do I become a member?
Membership is open to anyone. Single Membership is £15 per annum and Joint/Family Membership is £20 per annum. Subscriptions may be further enhanced by
Gift Aid. See our Donations Page

Membership forms, including gift aid detail can be obtained from the
Guardians displays in St Alphege Church and the Oliver Bird Hall or by post from

How do The Guardians raise funding?
1. A full programme of events is arranged each year - See 2010 and 2011
programmes to which everyone is welcome
2. Donations and Bequests are always gratefully received

3. The Guardians sponsor the floodlighting of St Alphege Church and are pleased
to arrange the floodlighting for anyone who is interested in having the Church
illuminated to celebrate a birthday, a new baby, a christening, a wedding
anniversary, or to commemorate a special occasion. The cost is £8 for 2 hours or
£14 for 4 hours. Application forms will be found at the Guardians displays in St
Alphege Church and the Oliver Bird Hall. Arrangements can also be made by
writing to or telephoning
